I’m Going Blogging Crazy

Hello all! Thank you for taking this time to spend with me.

My name is Natalie Keith. Perhaps we’ve already met. If not, I’ll tell you a little bit about me.

I’m a wife, a mom, a daughter, a friend – and a veterinarian. I graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 (Go Pokes!). Upon graduation, I moved to Shawnee, OK and shortly thereafter opened Northside Veterinary Hospital with my associate and friend, Dr. Tracy Trussell. We opened our practice with the belief that there was a better way to do this thing we call “veterinary medicine.” Needless to say, it has been an adventure!

Running a business will teach you so much about yourself. For example, I knew that I loved pets. I was surprised, however, to find out how much I love people too. That’s why I get up and come to work every morning: I want to help people help the pets that we all love.

I’ve found that the best way to help people help their pets is to empower them with the knowledge they need to make decisions that impact their pet’s health in the way that they desire. Knowledge is power after all.

After spending my entire life acquiring knowledge to help pets, I now have the distinct honor of passing on that information to my staff and pet owners as we all partner together in providing best quality care for their pets.

So that brings us to today! I’ve been thinking for some time about starting a blog as another tool to help spread our thoughts and understandings about veterinary care.

But I’ve hesitated…

Sharing my beliefs about veterinary medicine is an opportunity to show my mind, heart and soul. This feels very much like being vulnerable. And being vulnerable feels… well… scary.

So please bear with me as we start this journey. I will be open. I will be honest. I will be human.

I will also be so very grateful for the opportunity to share all of this information with you, one pet care topic at a time. Stay tuned for our first topic: coming in March!
